My project is just starting. I bought a house and I have a 20' by 17', 16' ceilings garage (which was previously used as a painter studio). The garage is not attached to the house.

OK, have to say this topic scared me as I admit I have been running at this new build with little to no knowledge really. I have a guy coming Monday to start ripping the old sheet rock off. I bought 9 rolls of #1 MLV and some acoustic caulk. Guy from Soundproofing america says it just needs to be put on to studs, caulk applied and sheet rock put back over.

Just bought brand new acoustic panels. These are 60cm x 120cm with rigid panel of polyurethane foam 40kg/m3 as the absorvent material. They are covered with good breathable fabric at both front and back sides. Images attached.
