Room Treatment
I was trying to get a large room (15 x 18 x 12') ready for recording and was looking for ideas to absorb the reflections off the cinder block walls. I was trying to find something a little more classy than just stapling carpet to the wall but not as insanely expensive as foam from online or whatever.
thanks

Is there a easy inexpesnse way to achieve a booth in my room?

Building a Studio, Room Size, carpet
Hi there
I'm having a studio built, and I've read some suggestions on other sites, and am receiving somewhat mixed suggestions.
The only problem is, I have to make these decisions in the very near future.. (the rooms are about to be built)

Soundproof recording space
Unfortunately, I'm in a situation where reducing the sound leakage is more important than the sonics of the room... though I'm not about to buy an ISO booth and deaden everything. The louder recording needs are for electric guitar and vocals, though I'm using low wattage amps that are often pushed a bit for break up. Will also record acoustic. No drums, no bass.

recording interface for soundbooth (what do I need?)
greetings all,
I'm in the market for a computer-based hardware interface to record vocalists with a variety of microphones including condensator mics.
I want the vocalists to lay down lyrics to pre-produced tracks, recording using a pc-based sequencer (e.g. cooledit).
I will build a soundproof booth for the vocalists and arrange the recording i a control-room.

what set up do I need for recording? no booth...open space.
I have decided that building a vocal booth in my studio room.
is a waste of money and time.
I live in the basement of my parents house.
nice lil room connected to my bedroom.
two doors...one for living/bedroom kitchen area and one for washroom.
It's pretty quite in my room...quiet enough to record rap/hip hop
lyrics with head phones/microphone.
