Help with Vocal Sound
I was asked by the guy I am working with to get:
---quote---
Kind of like Leonard Cohen on 'The Future' album, or 'I'm
your
Man". Or Nick Cave on 'Boatman's Call' or 'No More Shall We Part'.
THese
are not country recordings but their vocals are always close and big
sounding without being overly loud.

Ever record a vocalist that sounds Auto-tuned?
Hi guys, I was doing some tracking and now some mixing of a singer/ piano player. and his voice has the strage little artifacts that auto tune can leave behind if used to much. Any tips? or at least has anyone experienced this before? It may be more common than I thought. thanks
Vocal effects question
Hello,
Opinions on what are best vocal effects devices? By "best", I am thinking of those that allow for the most flexibility and options in working with and improving the quality, sound, and timbre of the human voice. Thank you.

Panning Vocals
Ok, got another question. I mixed down multiple vocals into two tracks. Now I am putting them back with a two track music soundtrack. Should I pan the vocals left and right, or leave both of them down the middle?

In your face vocals
Hey all. I am getting ready to master a project (I'm a newbie) by a trio. As I was listening, I noticed the vocals just didn't seem to come out and "slap me in the face" like I like. Are there any good tips for bringing these out?

Recording vocals with speakers instead of headphones.
Hi there. I recently heard that many singers record their parts listening to playback through speakers rather than headphones, James Hetfield on the Black Album and Kurt Cobain on Nevermind were used in reference.
Vocal ballance
Hello all, I am not very experienced with all this stuff, But am strugling with room modes (i think) Basicley i am a hifi listener not a recording person. But in my listening room when i play music all vocals and most center stage sounds, appear to come slightly to the right hand side? I have tried the usual swopping of kit from left to right etc but to no avail.

Help Recording Vocal and Stereo Guitar Simultaneously
I've posted this previously, but I have more questions that might be answered fully. The suggestions that were provided included the use of figure 8 pattern, which I don't have with any of my current mics. I need to record a guy playing guitar and singing at the same time.
Vocal mic placement issues
Hi,
I have a low budget Proj studio and am using a cheaper Oktava MC312 and a Presounus preamp. The problem I have is If I record quiet vocals they sound great (considering a cheap Mic and PreSonus Preamp).
