Bringing out Vocals in a 2 Track mix

Hello all. I have a project to master. It is a live 2 track of a (don't laugh)Christmas Show.(Recored with 2 Scheops into a dat, near the stage. The problem being--mics were too close to the band, and the pa was flown 20 feet above the stage.Vocals are not up front,as they should be.These a very good adult singers.Any tips for bringing the vocals more up front?

Solidstate or Tube Vocal Mic?

Hi guys I'm looking for a good vocal mic to be paired up with my Sebatron pre. This mic will be used mainly for my music which is melodic rock, I have been recorded before using a U 87 and I liked the sound I got but I'm not looking to spend quite that much. There might be something more appropriate for my voice you can hear sound samples on my site at the bottom of my bands recording.

Vocal distortion FX and VTB-1

I do a lot of metal bands and they tend to want distortion on the vocals for some or all of the tracks. I've tried using plugins like the grungilizer, I've run the track through the Line 6 POD, Sansamp Bass DI and a few other Guitar distortion boxes. For the most part the bands are satisfied, but I'm not happy with the results I've achived at this point.
