Acoustic shells
I frequently record in a hall where they put up an acoustic shell for choral concerts to project the sound. It's a beautiful Wenger Diva shell, but to my ear, the sound is really harsh, both live and on the recordings. Has anyone encountered this? When I record concert bands or percussion ensembles in the same space, they don't have the shell, and the sound is very nice.

XY vs. . Recorder Man for poor acoustic room
Does either option offer a better sound for a poor acoustic room?
What does each one do different from the other?
Is one better than the other?
Baritone acoustic guitar
I'm in the market for a baritone acoustic guitar (one that would be tuned BEADFB) I've written some music in this tuning and the thicker strings tuned down on a standard acoustic just isn't cutting it (floppy strings, tuning issues etc)
Anybody have any suggestions? :)

Acoustic guitar
Hi
i am about to start recording a project that will be mainly finger picked quiet guitar and vox.
My Neumann M149 which I was hoping to use has developed a fault and its gonna take a couple of weeks at least to get back from the servive center.
I am going to take the plunge and purchase my 2nd "high quality" (or maybe 3rd as i also own an AKG414) condensor mic.

Help A recording noob record some simple acoustic tracks
hey guys, i know almost nothing about recording. All I need at the moment is a cheap (around $100) way to record voice, an acoustic guitar (with pickup), and maybe bongo drums onto my macintosh. I'm not looking for professional quality, just so that i can actually hear the music instead of buzz. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I already have a Shure mic.
Realistic Acoustic Guitar Library ?
Hello...
I'm looking to find a top-notch sample library (not sure if that's the right term) with realistic sounding acoustic & electric guitars (mostly acoustic, hollow-body electric & 12 String)...that can be played via MIDI (MIDI guitar tracks, composed in a DAW.)

Thanks,

$300 vocal / acoustic mic?
For acoustic guitar / vocals, should I get:
A single mic
A matched pair?
Condenser over dynamic?
The mic is strictly for recording purposes
