home studio acoustics process
Hello all. I am new here. I recently purchased a new house and I plan to start building a home studio. Im hoping to get rolling on this project this fall so I have begun researching my options. I have a feeling that it is going to be a bit tricky. I plan to convert my upstairs loft which isn't hugh but it is a decent size area. My main concern is isolation; particulaly from the outside world.

What acoustics and room design for Hip Hop vocals / spoken
OK, I'm recording Hip Hop vocals and haven't put too much thought into it intially, but do spoken word and hip hop vocalist have as much need for a "perfectly" acoustic vocal room as a singer does.
Room acoustics
Hi, I once heard of a guy how designed his room acoustics, in which all of the absOrban t material was in the ceiling, and one of the walls was covered with stone blocks for diffusion, I rehearsed there twice and it sounds great but i've never tried ir for recording, what do you guys think?

using kms105 and RODE s-1 in far from perfect acoustics
Hi
I have to record percussions, mandolin, violin and bass far away from the studio in a house.
I was wondering if I can use the hypercardiod live vocal mics for mandolin and violin?
I have used the Neumannon a guitar cab,and brass with very good results. But what about the violin and mandolin and esprcially stand up bass?
Sure dying sucks, but the acoustics are great!
I'm thinking about nailing some pallets together or something to make a platform so I can record my drums here from now on:
