Anyone familiar with this unit? I know this falls almost into low-budget category but i want to know if its still a good deal for a home-based studio that's just starting out and only has the digi 002R for mic inputs.

I'm having problems getting a MOTU traveler to recognize an Aphex 230. I'm running logic 7. Should set the Aphex to external or internal. Can use optical cable or spdif. If I set the Aphex to internal the optical out light lights and the MOTU recognizes it, but as soon as I arm a track in Logic I get feed back. What is going on?

Does anyone really use these bass exciters? Does anyone know any top selling albums using them on bass or kick drum? Across all genres, let us tell of our experiences.

After searching for my first "real" preamp I've decided on a Sebatron 2000eVu. I am putting money into an account and hope to purchase it within about 4 months.

How does Aphex Twin (and other abstract sound and beat makers; Autechre, Radiohead, etc) get the artistic control needed to create his sounds? Ive played with everything from Logic to Reason to Absynth to Battery and all seem to have good things that I like. But I'm missing the piece to put them all together.

I'm looking at both the Aphex 204 and the BBE 482i to add to my collection. Primary function would be on vocals, but I'd also look into using them in production too. What are the pros/cons of each? Any other ones in the same price range ($200) that are better?

the twintrack is a little over twice as much. Is it worth spending the extra dough? Are they both crappy and should I look at something else? This post is loosly tied to one in pro audio gear forum here (Dead Link Removed)

I've been looking for some decent quality preamps vs price.
I'm ready to spend 600.00$ for a TWO channel preamps and i have in mind the APHEX 207, but was not able to find some reviews.
ART: the vendor at the music store in town told me that his first choices on that range would be the ART Gold. Personnally i own a MP and not satisfied.
