Ive been wanting to upgrade my studio with API, great River and UA pre's and a whole bunch of "high end" compressors and EQ's. Im a still a bit confused with the A/D thing here. I dont want to use the the Aardvark A/D convertes (they are not that bad but I want more). I was thinking of geetting the Apogee Rosetta 800, but how do I send the signal into my PC if I dont have the Aardvark Q10 ?

Is anyone using two Aardvark Q10's in their rig? I'm considering adding a second one to mine but I'm concerned about my PC's ability to handle the additional load. I have a Pentium 4 1.8 GHz machine. Will I need to upgrade my processor too?

Has anyone used or heard about this unit? I'm assuming Aardvark is low grade stuff, but i dont have $2500 to spend on a one channel mic preamp at the moment.

Heads up fellow Q10 users. I'm in the process of fine tuning a new daw with a Hyperthreading CPU and an Aardvark Q10.

In about a week and a half I will be hooking up my MQ3 Pre and my FMR Really Nice Compressor to my Aardvark Q10.

I am looking for any advise, guidance, auggestions, experiences from users who have used either the meek or the rnc with a Q10.

Here is my quick plan.

I was considering buying the Q10 soundcard for my recordings but I know it's been out for a while now so i wanted to make sure aardvark wasn't planning on releasing a new soundcard to replace the Q10. Did anyone hear anything about something replacing the Q10 that would be worth waiting for?

I just got a studio projects vtb-1 and i am wondering what would be the best way to connect it to the Q10
should i run through the inserts or the inputs on the front of the interface?
is anyone else using these two in conjunction with each other?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, I am an idiot. I got an Aardvark Q10 (which is ugly, but otherwise fits my need for one of my computers) without bothering to check if they had a Windows 2000 driver available (I mean, who doesn't?). They're in some sort of post-beta, pre-release mode that you have to apply to take part in, which I have.

I saw some comments in another post but they were not coming from someone who actually has one of these unit so I just wanted an opinion from an owner. It would help in my purchase. Its either a Q10 or a Layla 24, but the options on the Q10 are very tempting. XLR, phantom power, direct inputs with pre for guitar etc.
