Hello everyone,

I've been around the board for a bit, reading some great stuff others have posted, and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in a new direction.

I have had the Q10 for about 6 months now (LOVE IT!). But I want to start to get into the MIDI side of my equipment. Right now I'm running SONAR XL 2.1 and I'm having difficulty getting MIDI to playback through the Q10, even though SONAR says that it is routing to the same outputs as my wave files (which play just fine).

I don't expect you guys to fix it for me, I'm just looking for a "push" in the right direction. I like to figure things out through trial and error. The MIDI side of this has been mostly error.

I'm wondering if I need a specific MIDI generator card that will push straight Audio to the Q10. I'm very confused.

Any advice is welcome.

Take care,

Lars Christianson

BTW, the manual has NOT been of help on this, following the examples give me nothing but silence.

I am also interested in this. I think that since the Q10 is just a midi port, not a device, you do not want to route your sound to it, unless you have a midi device plugged in to it.

I *think* you want to use and internal soft synth as your midi output.

Sonar Power 2 has some walk throughs that provide much more detail than the sonar manual. You may also be able to get a bit of help from Aardvark... those guys seems very responsive.
