I'm about to purchase a multitrack recorder. I'm leaning towards the Zoom 1608. One other consderation is the Korg 1600, but the Zoom seems to be more in line with the features I will need/want.

i've finally got my guts together and decided to bring two of my mixes to this forum.
i recently recorded this stuff (low-budget) and now i'm pretty busy trying to make it sound good.

I'm a newbie trying to get together a home studio, record 3-4 tracks at a time just for fun...demo quality at best- been reading and lurking for about a month.

I mainly do spoken word recordings in my project studio. I have a good signal chain (R84 or NTK, UA6176 or STT-1, Apogee PSX-100, Lynx AES16, Sound Forge 7.0, Event PS8 monitors). I would appreciate any advice from those of you that master spoken word as to what steps you take and what common factors you consider most in mastering spoken word. Thank you.

i have a studio I'm trying to set up
i have a computer that i want to make beats off of.

i have a mc307 and mc505.
i have a 16 channel mixer
i have 4 peavy 12"s for the studio
i have two mics
two guitars
i have a two channel amp
and a two channel eq

Any advice on getting the best sound when transfering audio from cassette into my DAW (PT - 001)? I'm assuming I should use SPDIF connection - but then what about level and more so, tape hiss and background noise? Anyway to attenuate that without a plugin (EQ maybe?)? If not, is there a cheap or free plugin anyone could point me to?

limited space and gear but my attemps have proved decent just looking for optimization and suggestions for better sound with what i have thanks, placement, IVE NEVER DONE THIS B4 so i am a clean slate, a blank tablet, got great songs need advice
