Trashy overheads
Hi All. I'm new to the forum. I'd like to get your opinions on Micing techniques for drum overheads. Right now I'm in a good sounding, basstrapped room with C1000's as spaced overheads. I get a lot of mid range trash and not a lot of silky high-end . The ceiling is only 8 ft (problem #1) but it is quite dead with 50% covered in OC703.
Should I be trying some other mics ?

Best overhead mics for drums?
what would be good overhead mics for me? I am willing to put some cash in getting a decent pair that would stay with me till the day I die...

Great River 2NV
I've heard so many great things about the Great River 2NV and for a while was planning on purchasing one. I'm still considering, but could anyone tell me if they've used it with sucess on acoustic guitars and how it sounds? What mic(s) did you use? SD, LD? Were they on the bright side to compliment the 2NV's darker sound?

Picking Mics - adventures in M/S
Hey guys, I asked a similar question a while back, but was looking for some advice on mics. I currently have a selection of dynamics and a pair of AKG 451b's. I was looking to get a new pair of mics to play a bit more with stereo. I especially want to experiment with M/S recording techniques.

Better small condenser mics
I'm looking for a pair of small condenser mics, which will be an upgrade from some AKG C1000s's. I would spend as much as 800 for the pair. Any suggestions? Thanks,

UAD Cambridge EQ
I just bit the bullet and bought this plugin for my UAD card, and so far, I think I am in love! I am still trying to get my brain around all the ins and outs of it, but it looks like it is a really fine piece of work. I guess it is supposed to be an Oxford clone, but for the price (US$149), I don't see how that is possible.

Recorderman Overhead Miking
Some here may remember the older thread where Recorderman described the way he liked to mic drums.
I am curious if anyone would be willing to chime in with some thoughts, ideas, suggestions about overheads to be used if following Recordermans suggestions.
First off, I have done it already with Beta57's and had some good luck, but I really need to use my 57's elsewhere...

Cheaper option than KM 184 for acoustic guitar?
I am considering biting the bullet and getting a matched pair of KM 184's for when I record acoustic guitar. The price tag is a little high so I'm wondering if anyone has had good results with a cheaper pair of mics.
