Description

Audio interfaces convert microphone and instrument signals into a format your computer and software recognize. The interface also routes audio from your computer out to your headphones and studio monitors.

It acts as the bridge between the music you create and your DAW (digital audio workstation). Audio interfaces often include built-in preamps, headphone jacks, and monitor controls, and they come in various types to accommodate Thunderbolt, USB, FireWire, Ethernet, and PCI connections. Plus, audio interfaces are available at several price points, from budget-friendly units to advanced professional models. If you plan on making music using a computer, you'll need an audio interface!

audio interfaces that work well... motu? RME? etc.

i've been using an akai dps24 for a couple years and everything is selfcontained.

I don't know what what system to go with, i want something with easy monitor sending and sounds good. i'd like to have 8 mic preamps built in with 8 or so more balanced inputs for more preamps. i've been lookin at MOTU and they seem to have (on paper) great monitor sends/mixing capability and

Tascam us-144 audio interface: not recording

Hi, i just bought a Tascam US-144 usb/midi interface. It all works completely fine, except when i try to record, there's nothing there. i am running a bass directly into the guitar input with all the settings right for guitar, and the signal light is lit when i play.

anybody who knows interfaces well, i would appreciate your help greatly.

Choosing an audio interface. Dazed and confused

How does one make a decision on this stuff? So many different points of views.

Do Behringer really make the best cards for the low price range, or are they a complete waste of time? And is the Behringer BCA 2000 better than the ESP 1010?
Is the Firebox as good as they say it is?
Are EMU cards really unreliable these days?

I'm lost...
:?

audio interface

hi every one i need a suggestion on buying an audio interface,
my plan is to record electric and acoustic guitars at home.
not necessarily for vocals or recording through Micing because that we do at a professional studio. but to at least give a shape to our songs we record all instruments axcept the drums. like
bass
vocals
guitars
keyboards

Are the A/D D/A converters part of the audio interface?

Also,

Everyone says great converters is where its at. Which ones are good without spending a ton of cash?

I am thinking about buying a digi 002. But I heard the coverters are crap?

If I bought logic pro what interface would be best?

Just want to hear some opinions.

1-700 dollar Audio Interface [most simple]

hi guys. i ONLY record hip hop vocals, i have no idea on how to do anything else and it would most likely lead to confusion. i was wondering what would be the BEST buy for me to gain quality? right now all i own is my mic.. headphones... and a weak preamp [art tube]. i was recommended the Apogee Mini Me. but that might be out of my league.
