Description

Audio interfaces convert microphone and instrument signals into a format your computer and software recognize. The interface also routes audio from your computer out to your headphones and studio monitors.

It acts as the bridge between the music you create and your DAW (digital audio workstation). Audio interfaces often include built-in preamps, headphone jacks, and monitor controls, and they come in various types to accommodate Thunderbolt, USB, FireWire, Ethernet, and PCI connections. Plus, audio interfaces are available at several price points, from budget-friendly units to advanced professional models. If you plan on making music using a computer, you'll need an audio interface!

new audio interface

ok so what would you recommend for an firewire audio interface lets say for a grand or under for use with logic pro 7.2 and a mac pro? converters are important, 8 I/O would be nice, I was looking at the MOTU 896 and the Mackie 400 which one has better converters? has anyone heard the saffire pro yet? any other suggestions?

Audio Interface + Preamp questions

Ive come to a standstill in my own research and I thought maybe someone around here could give me some advice/opinions. :D

So before I get to deep into this my first question is.
Do I Still need to buy another interface when I have an A/D converter like the ones listed below?
If so: Would my audigy 2 suffice for this, since the DAC's would be bypassed anyway?

audio interface

i wish to buy an audio interface of the brand MOTU 896 hd.
we donot have a proper studio setup but still want to record our guitar parts(amp modelers), bass(amp modelers), keyboards(through usb) and vocals(?).
we know that with our setup its difficult to get good results through mic recording but we don't have another choice.

Problem with setting up two different audio interfaces!..

Hi.

Im trying to set up my laptop to use two different audio interfaces simultaniously.

One of them is a M-Audio Mobile USB.. and the other is a Hercules 16/12 FIREWIRE>.. The main problem is that Cubase won't let me use two drivers at once.. soo it cannot reckonize them both..

Is this possible to make it work?
