Decent Mic/channel strip combo?

Forums

OK, I swear I'm not trolling here. I know these questions are asked all the time. I've been writing music in Cubase for years but all in the box. I want to expand to be able to record bands at my studio. What I'd like to know is, in the range of say $2500, what would be a good mic/channel strip combo. The main focus is to have something that will capture pro sounding vocals.

Warm-sounding channel strip

I'm looking for a general-use single channel strip to use as a front end for a software-based home project studio. Bass guitar and a RODE NT2A are the main input sources, though guitar and melodica (through the NT2A) will also factor in, as I'm into dub reggae. I'm kinda trying to get a Twilight Dub Circus one-man-show thing going on.

versatile pro channel strip for vox/gtr/bass/acoustic

This will be my first pro level channel strip. I'm looking for a versatile channel strip for vocals, electric guitar, bass, and acoustic guitar. I'm going to try out the UA LA-610. Here's my current signal path..

vox/acoustic:
AT 4033 -> (channel strip) -> MOTU 828MkII -> Logic

electric guitar and bass:
(channel strip) -> MOTU 828MkII -> Logic

SPL Channel One and TL Audio 5051 mk2 comparison

Hi!

Newbie to this forum.

I'm on my way to purchase a budget micpreamp. Have found two good deals on two separete products; a SPL Channel One and a TL Audio 5051 mk2. The SPL is second hand and the 5051 is brand new. The prices for them are about the same (990USD for the 50501, 1070USD for the SPL)

Crest Performance ST-2 dual mic preamp/channel strip

Forums

I wasn't sure whether to post this under proaudio or budget gear. The only information I have been able to find is the usual commercial promo- information. Critiques by experts or actual users seem to be elusive. In my search, however, I did find this forum. Hopefully someone here can provide first hand information regarding their experience with this unit.

Recommendations for first pro channel strip.

Hi folks,

I would like to get my first pro channel strip that has mic preamp, comp, EQ and etc...I am considering Sebatron Thorax, or to save some cash, a Focusrite Voice Master Pro. I'm using it mainly for demo making and small projects. I am open to other options as long as it is a quality gear.
