hi folks. IS anyone here into CB4? seems there are some modeling prestes like optical and so.
What are your impressions? I only have CB1, CB2 and CB3. In fact I did not like very much the simple pre filter in there. CB1 is pretty good.

What's a good low cost unit.

I just got an RNC, and I'm not sure how to set it up. The manual explicitly says you can't use it in a balanced signal path with TRS connectors. You must "unbalance" the signal first.

My plan was to use it in the balanced insert loop on my PreSonus MP20 pre. The outs (balanced) of the MP20 then go into the inserts on my mixer in order to bypass the mixer's pres.

HI ALL In Virtual Land. Trying to hunt down some circuits for some very rear little beasts called a EMT256 II. One of the Powderfinger boys has bought a pair and would like to make them work again. If anyone has any info at all hiding in a draw somewhere please blow the dust of of it and place it on the scanner. It would be most appreciated. Thank You.

I thought that it might be helpful for some people to start a thread on how to use certain tools like compressors, limiters, gates, filters, etc.

For example when I first got a compressor plugin , it took me a while before I understood what the threshold was, attack, etc.

Maybe someone can help me out here. A long time back when I purchased my Cubase 3.7 Producer Pak from Steinberg I received, besides everything else, a copy of Waves Rennaisance Compressor. I installed it along with my other software and transferred the dll's into the VST Plugins folder, but I could never find it in Cubase. I finally ended up using a freeware plugin in its place.

Can anyone recommend a goodcompressor for around $300? I found out last night the HARD WAY why those are VERY necessary (dynamic pun intended).
