Recording Computer Build
I decided I'm going to go the computer recording route from now on. The main problem is that i don't have a computer. So I'm going to get a job and make money to build my own.
We have this old Compaq pII that I'm going to basically gut and put all new parts in. I want to know what you think of the stuff I'm putting in and if you have any other suggestions or comments

Computer Recording!
Hey so i got my home studio all finished and everything sounds great.
But when i record, our drummer and lead guitar record at the same time to get the tempo right.
My question is, since I'm using a G5 Mac OSX can we record at the same time threw the same mixer, but have the gitar and drums lay downs as 2 differnt tracks?

Separate computer for VST/Plugins
I use a lappy for most of my recording needs. It works but I can't run a ton of VST/VSTi's. I'm using Cubase SX on an Intel machine. I freeze tracks to release the strain off of my CPU, but that can be a time consuming process.

Alright i've been trying to hook my guitar to the computer through my line 6 delay modeler (the green box) but have had no success. I guess i'm pretty stumped with the whole thing. There are 2 input holes and 2 output holes on the Box. I have a chord in the first hole of the input to my guitar. THen a chord in the first output to the amp.

Digital transfer to computer - Edirol 1X recording levels
Hi forum!
Moving to a computer based recording environment, help?
Sorry to make this my first post but I'm sure it won't be my last.
I'm currently running a 24track ADAT studio with a Eurodesk and a bunch of Compressores, Effects, etc...
Now, I want to move into a computerized situation. Here's what I'd like to do.
protools+ computer + monitors
Does anyone know how to get monitors that are hooked up through Pro Tools to play music from CD's or itunes from my computer. right now I use the cheap little speakers that came with the computer. I just thought this might be a lot better. I have a pc with windows XP.
