ok i want to be able to record 8 to 16 mics simultaneously to my computer, if possible i would like to be able to do pre eqs and pans that are sent along with the audio to the computer via firewire or usb. Along with this i want to be able to control at least 4 earphones and 2 sets of monitors and sub and a talk back mic so basicaly a control room surface.

i have a br-1600 and i'm curious about how this works; do you need a program to export wavs, or does the computer just recognize your console as an external device and allow the wavs. to be transferred to it?

All right I have about $5500 I want to upgrade to computer because of flexibility I have all the microhones and preamps you can shake a stick at a Sebatron 4 channel 2 4 channel sytek all burr browns and a Lexicon mpx-1 and really nice compressors can I use all this with a computer and for $5500 what kind of computer set up can I get. I need 24 channel simultaneous at 24/96.

I want to start Computer-Based recording at home, but I have a few questions. I've seen tons of websites like http://www.shopjt3.com/introductory_MIDI.html that tell you what you basically need to get started. However, they fail to mention what the items are used for or why you need them.

I am realy searching everywhere to find out the best way to set up mine komputer, i got a pentium 4 1,9 ghz,two harddisk, waveterminal 192m soundcard,windows xp.
i want to use it for normal use (net,music, programs ed) and for audio recording i use nuendo 3.0. I hope that there is somebody who can
help my, right now my komputer seems to be a mess and is myn audio full of tiks.

Currently have Soundcraft Spirit Studio 16ch board and 2 ADAT LX-20s with some other outboard gear. I bought the ADATs off EBay with less than 500 hours each and one is giving me errors and taking my tape, etc.

What Programs are good to use in Windows Xp ?

Logic Has unlimted # of recordable tracks, and does not require any interface to work.

Pro Tools needs a interface 002, m-box, 001 etc.

Im new to the producing world, and my knowledge consists of mainly how to use fruity loops, acid pro, recycle and soundforge. Been a dj for 7 years so I understand the concepts of a lot of it, and what Im going to need soundwise..

but I need help on getting deeper into the industry. I need to upgrade my options. Hardware and Software wise..
