My computer is annoying loud ( i think its my fans) and it is really messing up my recordings. When I do a noise reduction the recording Sounds horribly robotic. Is there a better way to get rid of the noise or reduce the noise that my computer makes?

I moved my studio into a smaller space and I am having severe difficulty with the noise from my computer. I tried to build a barrier covered it with auralex foam and stuffed foam all around my computers and I can't get the noise level from the computer down far enough.

So i have been trying to weigh my options.

Hey, I just found this device on-line called a computer-on-a-stick, which is almost what it sounds like, a computer on a stick. I'd like to try it. Does anyone else have any thoughts on how it would work or does anyone own one? I would really love to know more about it.I also saw Bio USB Flash Drive on that site. I saw it at http:// (It works in the USB drive and stores info.)

Can anyone recommend a good card for getting my ADAT tracks into the computer? I'm looking at the G5's

Did you keep using your ADAT to record with? I would like only to use my ADAT to archive and remix my S-VHS ADAT tapes if possible.

What software are you mixing with?

I'm currently using Cubase VST 5.1 (Mac) in conjunction with an Akai S5000 & a Technics WSA-1 synth, along with my guitar rig & recording drums from a TD12 midi kit. My Mac (G3 ibook) won't go much further due to ramm resitictions.

How should I connect a mixer to an edirol UA-1A device to record into the computer? What should I use as monitors (receiver and speakers?, PA?) and how do I hook that up to the output of the UA-1A? I've been trying to record with this equipment for awhile now and i think i'm not setting it up properly. Thank you so much if anyone can help. .

Does anyone know of a good drum machine and sequencer for piano and guitar. Hardware that is. I have a EMU 0404 card and software installed in my computer, but I keep getting crashes, so I am having a hard time trying to transfer CD's from my DAW recorder, 8 track, to my computer software, which is a Cubase software program and a Patchmix mixer.

Maybe after or during college I'll get a Pro Tools Rig because I find this Fostex MR-8 Eight Track that I have to be a bit limiting.

Intel Celeron 1.2 Ghz
256 SDRAM
Hard Drive space is always expandable
And I could always add a nicer sound card.

When i record something and try to play it back then play a rif over top of it, it records the play back again, making it real fussy and scratchy sounding, does anyone know how to make it so it will play back but just record the guitar and not the playback
