Expander/Direct Out/Wha?
I have a Behringer MX9000. I have an Alesis HD24. What is the best/easiest method of using all 24 tracks of the HD24? I have 16 tracks through the 8-bus and internal patching of the MX9000. Should I go Direct Out, Mix-B (which I am totally not understanding fully when it comes to the recording/playback routing side of things), or just use the Expander port and add a little mixer? Or what?

recrding gtr head direct
Hi GUys,
I am wanting to record a H&K tube guitar head direct via its red box DI out.
However, like all heads of this type its not a good idea to run it without loading it (speaker cabinet connected). I dont want to hook up a speaker box to it since I'm not gonna mic it up, any way around this?
Cheers,,
Sammyg

New direction? Im at a crossroad. .
Hi All,
I have been looking at my gear and wondering if I shouldnt be taking a different tact with my expansion. I am a musician utilising recoring for my own material, but am hoping to expand to better quality as my skills develope doing personal demo's myself and others. .
As some of you know I am running a soundcraft Spirit folio 12/2 mixer into a Tascam DP01 fx/CD.

Direct Guitar Recording
First Post! Yeah! I'd really like to be able to go direct to mixer with my guitar and still get a metal guitar tone. The products I have been looking at are:
Sansamp TRI-AC
Sansamp GT2
Sansamp PSA 1
Hughes & Kettner Tubeman
I will be setting it up like so:

ways of recording bass direct in
Alright, now for my next pathetic newbie question.
I would like to put bass down on a project i'm doing, but i don't have a bass
amp. Just a bass guitar i borrowed from my cousin. I'm using the e-mu
1820m and Cubase to record.

Hey everyone,
I'm on a gear building kick right now, and I'm going to be purchasing some components in bulk for a guitar pedal I'm re-designing and selling to some buddies of mine.

Direct vrs. Mic'd bass tone
Ive gone back and forth between the two... I normally go with a bit of both... direct to get some of the highs and clicks, microphone to get some of the girth and low/mids.
however, i've reached a point where i'm not able to improve the tone of any bass i work with. and essentially rely on lots of EQ, compression and even pre-amp plugins.
