Im trying to buy some budget gear to get me started, and my main thing right now is drum mics. Im getting the PreSonus firepod as a preamp and interface, and ive already got software and everything for my comp.

Anyways i cant figure out what mics to get! Can someone just give me a few pointers as to what mics i should buy that will get me the best sound?

Hey,

Im looking to buy a drum plugin (ideal VST as I use cubase). I currently use EZDrummer but ive been told several times that the drum sounds are letting me down.

I really want whatever I buy to last me a while so I'm willing to spend quite a bit, id rather spend a bit on a good package to last me a while.

Help with drum recording techniques

I recently recorded an album not paying much attention to the intricacies that go into getting good drum sounds. I simply used one overhead dynamic mic which ran directly into my computer, no interface. I then used several filters in Adobe Audition to liven up the sound. I wasn't going for a polished sound...

Drum editing?

Just out of curiosity how long would you say it should take to edit drum tracks? Basically i have spent probably somewhere between six and eight hours editing every drum hit for one 3 and a half minute song. I did not really mess with quantizing the hits because my drummer plays with a click live. So he is well rehearsed and overall the drums maintain a consistent feel.
