ok, so i'm using Adobe Audition 3 for all of my recording, mixing, and my somewhat rough, improperly trained attempt at mastering. - but hey, i'm doing it all to learn from anyway.

after adding some limiters and stuff and i get my level fairly hot, i was wondering. should i dither?

Been reading about "Dithering". I understand the process and why it's needed- and everyone says "...last step in chain use your favorite plugin ."
So what's your favorite plugin ?

I am using CUBASE SE 3, 24/44.1kz.

One of my clients approached me and asked if I could 'master' his recording. I told him that I put MaxI'm and get the overall level up to -.5dB, but I wouldn't do any more than that, and that he'd have to get someone else if he thought it nessissary.

aside from the question of to dither or not in general,

I am using Sound Forge to master. I would like the L2 to dither the songs down to 16 bit from 24 bit (48K). I have selected 16 Bits, Type 1, and Moderate shaping. After I process the audio, Sound Forge says it is still in 24 bit, 48k. How do you get the L2 to dither it to 16 bits?
