What is the Doppler Shift
The Doppler effect or Doppler shift is the change in frequency of a wave in relation to an observer who is moving relative to the wave source. It is named after the Austrian physicist Christian Doppler, who described the phenomenon in 1842.
Who is Christian Doppler?
Christian Andreas Doppler was an Austrian mathematician and physicist. He is celebrated for his principle – known as the Doppler effect – that the observed frequency of a wave depends on the relative speed of the source and the observer. He used this concept to explain the color of binary stars.
What phenomenon is used in astronomical measurements?
physicist Christian Doppler
This phenomenon is used in astronomical measurements, in Mössbauer effect studies, and in radar and modern navigation. It was first described (1842) by Austrian physicist Christian Doppler.

Sweet'n Phantom Image/Delay Lines For Panning
Regarding Vocals, but also pertaining to other instruments.
I was reading the book Total Recording, by Dave Moulton, and he speaks of sweet'ning the phantom image using delay lines.(Center/Lead vocal with a floating image(so to speak)). As well as panning, using delay, instead of the pan function.
Creating sound for Games, Cartoons. Equipment, Software
I want to try to mess around with sound for cartoons and games. What I am really interested in creating. Sound Fx. So I understand that a lot of sounds can be recorded live, but what if you want some blaster sound etc... What Software do I need for that? What keyboard? I was thinking to begin with M-audio Oxygen or E-mu Xboard... Any suggestions? Thank you.
Leslie Tremolo Unit
So i pulled the rotating Leslie out of an organ and i want to be able to hook it up with my guitar amps. It has an 8" speaker thats 35 watts, i think. Anyone know were i could get a hold of something that would convert a large signal down to something like that? I also need a power supply and a way to control the 2 speeds that it can run at.

Micing a B3 for live recording?
Anybody have any tips for this? I'm thinking we'll take a DI right off the organ, then I'll put a 414 on the Leslie (my only other available option for mics would be a 57).
I'm wondering if i should use the pad on the 414? i'm thinking i want to get the mic as close as possible to minimize bleed, and these guys play at a fairly loud volume...

Name that sound
Hey,
I'm trying to find a sound effect. I know exactly how it sounds but I don't know what it's name is. So I just wonder whether anyone would recognise what it is if I describe it :)
They use this sound effect a lot in documentaries... particularly kind of chilling murder documentaries etc when they reveal something spin chilling..

Recording backwards solo
Am I missing something that would make this easier in the digital realm?
I just spent about 3 hours manually reversing each note because I can't seem to find any easier way to do it. Any advice?
