Making "fake" drums sound more "real"?
So I am using Sonar 3 PE. I recorded some tracks with midi drums. I then used my Casio keyboards drum sounds and just triggered them with Sonar. I used the 1/4" stereo out (headphone) out of the keyboard and ran that through my tube pre-amp into my Layla24. They sound ok, but definitely not what I am looking for.

One or two room mics when recording drums?
How many room mics are you guys using when recording a drumset ? where do you usually place them ?
I was thinking of buying a Soundelux as a room mic and use my AKG 414 b/uls as overheads. r do you guys believe its better to use two U195s as overheads and the AKG's as room ? Thanks for the imputs>

Cheap Way to do Drums in Protools
allright. so I'm looking into getting a Pro Tools setup. i wanna be able to do a full drum kit through it. so in looking at the digi002 rack mount, u get 4 mic preamps. thats nothing. i need at least 8 for a kit. so I'm not exactly sure how one goes about doing this.

3 Mic Technique for Drums
Hi again,
I recently heard about this '3 Mics Technique for Drums' invented by Glynn/Andy John, however, I couldn't find a visual representation of the setup. I was wondering if anyone can give me a clearer explanation of how to achieve this technique?
And if anyone would like to share their own/favorite 3 mic technique, that would be awsome, too!
