recording electric bass
Hi. I own a small studio at home, base on a PC system and 2 Echo audio drivers (Layla+Gina). I also use a MAckie 32.8.2 mixer to manage instruments inputs, tracks outputs and outboards.

Electric Guitar via DI - Do or Don't or YMMV?
Hello All,
I am preparing to add some electric guitar tracks to my current project song and I was wondering if I could get some feedback from the forum. I sold my Apeg amp about a year ago but I still have my stomp boxes.
Liquid Electric Bass or Broomstick Bass
Hello guys
I 've recently bought Spectrasonic's Trilogy for my bass sounds.Since I'm not a bassplayer I'm looking for some inspiration as far as bass grooves and this way I'm also thinking about purchasing some other (phrase based) Bass VST
I've done little bit of a research and there are 4. products which I might be able to use.

electric guitar micing
I'm a student at the Conservatory of Recording Arts in Tempe, Arizona. I start a project next Wednesday, it's my first recording. It goes unsaid that I want to have the best recording in my class. Any Micing techniques, and mic types (I have many at my disposal) that you all could recommend would be very appreciated and helpful.

recording electric guitar/electric bass with a Sennheiser E604
Hi all! Just wondering if any of you have ever tried recording electric guitar/electric bass with a Sennheiser E604? Have read people saying that the E604's sound a LITTLE like MD421's on toms, so therefor i wondered if they would be good as bass/guitar-mics. I know it is not very common to use these as mentioned, but. .anyone have any experience?

my friend has a esp ltd electric guitar,a very good guitar but the only problem is the lycensed floyd rose, it has emg hz two humbuckers.
the guitar i've selected ltd m1000fm has original floyd rose but it has two emg 81 humbuckers which i read that they sound better for the heavy metal kind of thing especially sound like slayer.

Electric Bass Recording Trends: DI vs. . Mic
Curious to know most widely used bass recording technique used in pro and semi-pro projects: DI vs Mic vs Both?
99.9% of sessions and original projects I work on use DI. In fact I can't recall ever using mic on my rig (or brining my rig) during a session.

electric guitar, EQ before or after mic?
So let's say you're recording an electric guitar, multitrack, to be used in a band setting.
Do you:
Dial in EQ on the amp, using the low/mid/hi knobs, to the way you/the guitarist want it, then just record that signal and keep it relatively flat from there?
