An EQ Question

I'm just beginning to move out of the Omni/Io phase of recording into the realm of better pres and effects,at this point my best pre is a Joemeek VC1Q.Beyond other upgrades in preamps, one of the things I'm looking to do is introduce the use of EQ into the basic setup I have now.My question is,what if any difference is there between using mono EQ across a bus as a kind of psudo master,

EQ Plug In?

Hi
I'm new to the recording thing so if this sounds a bit funny. don't shout at me. O.K i'm just building a good quality mic preamp amp and it won't be too long before its finished, the mic preamp has no eq on it so is there a good EQ plugin i could use along with my mic preamp, or am i best building a parametric eq? I,m running Sonar 2.2, any ideas.

Need help dealing with EQ happy client

I have been working witha rock band for a while now. These guys are way above par as for a players. The tunes are great. Its all great I think. So, the problem is this. They are convinced that you have to add like 12 db shelves to low end on all the drum channels and bass channels. And they think you have to add 15 db of hi end to all channels.
