Firewire

Hey! I just put a Firewire PCI adaptor thing in my PC, it says in device manager OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller, and it is obviously not installed properly. I tried installing the driver automatically, but that never works anyway. I googled it, but it's really confusing, I don't know what I am looking at. Could you guys tell me how to get this thing up and running?

MOTU 896HD vs Mackie Onyx 1220 with firewire card

How do those two compare?

I'd like to upgrade my studio to 8 inputs and better A/D converters (currently using a Delta 44). I want decent mic preamps built-in so I can quickly record a whole bunch of tracks.

I was thinking about the PreSonus Firepod but then found those two options which seem better.

Adding other hardware to the Firewire ports.

Hello! I currently have a PreSonus Firestation. It's great, but... I need more inputs :-. So, I was wondering, since I am using my Firestation on my firewire card (PCMCIA), and only using 1 port (1/2), could I also hook up let's say an M-Audio Solo to the other port and also record from both hardware.
