I'm a newbie here, so please be gentle :D.
Also, I'm unsure whether I've posted this in the right forum, but please feel free to move me if not.

FireWire Cable
Hi there
How long may be a firewire cable running through the wall and connecting my 1814 to DAW... I actually use a 3 feets cable but my computer is so noisy I just want to put it on the other side of the wall running a long firewire cable.
Thanks a lot

firewire or direct line in?
I want to purchase a macbook, which has only one firewire port. I know that 5400 RPM hard drive speed is a little slow for recording, so I want the firewire port free for an external hard drive. I also want to buy a TC electronic Konnekt 8, which is a firewire device.

Focusrite Saffire? M-Audio MBox 2, Firewire?
I've seen a lot of topics and replies talking about the PreSonus Series Firebox, Firepod, Firestudio, but no one really talks about the Focusrite Saffire, LE, and Pro or the M-Audio Firewire Solo, 410 and 1814, and the MBox 2, mini and Pro?
So I'm just asking what do you think about them?

Question about firewire interfaces
Hi. I currently work with an M-audio 1010LT. Not high-endI know. I would definitely like to have at least 16 channels of I/O into my DAW and have looked at many ways to achieve this. MOTU seems to be the first thing that comes to mind in the PCI arena. There are also a lot of firewire interfaces with up to 8 channels like the PreSonus stuff and Alesis.

Alesis Multimix Firewire bugginess - are new drivers OK?
Hello to all,
PCI/Firewire Interfaces @ 96k w/ DIGIMAX FS?
I have a PreSonus DIGIMAX that I would like to run all 8-ADAT inputs into an interface that will accept them at 96k (if at all possible). I also want the interface to have a few of it's own inputs and even a second ADAT input. I have a Sony Vaio PC with Windows XP Media Center and I use Cubase SX3, so it will have to be compatable with all of those.

Apogge's Firewire Mini-Me
Hi. Is anyone using this? Is the latency workable for overdubs? I would be using it with a MacBook and Logic Pro 7 (along with the Mini-DAC). I want a High Quality portable setup capable of making field recordings and to be able to bypass the preamp/converters on a studio that I work which has a Yamaha OV1. Thanks
