FireWire Interface

Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of recording, and had a question that if answered would make my life a little easier. :D

So, I have an M-audio 410, which has 2 preamps.. Which essentially means I can record 2 tracks at once correct? I need a Firewire interface that can track 8 channels at once. I'm having trouble locating any that are rated well and are affordable. any ideas?

troubleshooting my rig (possibly firewire or vista64 issues)

I just recently got the rest of my rig together, and am having troubles getting my hardware to be recognized.

Here's the set up:
PreSonus Firepod > 6p-4p firewire cable > laptop (running 64bit vista).

I also have an external hard drive, so sub that in for the Firepod when called for.
