Avalon AD2022 Guitar/Vocals
Hi, I recently got set up with gear to do some home recording. I thought I would share a recording I did using the following chain:
Audio-Technica 4033 (vocals); Taylor ES on 914 ce (guitar) --> Avalon AD2022 preamp --> E-MU 1212m sound card --> Cubasis OEM software that came with the card.

suggest Esp LTD m1000fm electric guitar
my friend has a esp ltd electric guitar,a very good guitar but the only problem is the lycensed floyd rose, it has emg hz two humbuckers.
the guitar i've selected ltd m1000fm has original floyd rose but it has two emg 81 humbuckers which i read that they sound better for the heavy metal kind of thing especially sound like slayer.

studio tricks to make a fatter guitar sound
ive heard many tricks to do this:
dupe the track and all delay...dupe the track and add reverb
compression, etc...
Does anyone have a tried and true way of doing this? I have a pretty "airy" song with some crunchy gTRS in the choruses...but they sound weak and thin compared to the rest when they hit.
i had major ear fatigue last night so i gave up...

EQing acoustic guitar for power chords
I'm recording a guy who plays acoustic guitar and sings along. He's using an Ibanez PF5ecent acoustic electric that is plugged straight into my E-MU 1820m. Open chords sound fine and extremely round and perfect. When he plays power chords all I can hear is the god awful fret buzz. How should I tackle this problem, we can rerecord if need be.

Recording Punk-guitars
Hi,
The guitars in albums like NOFX or Greenday sound beautiful.
My first question is: are they the same when playing alone as when they are blended in the mix?
I mean, when you have a guitar intro and then the bass and other instruments join the song, is it commen to change the guitar EQ?
Or does it stay the same in general?
I'm using this equipment:

Recording Vocals & Guitar
Hey Folks,
just wanted to get some recommendations on recording a singer/songwriter that wants to lay down guitar and vocals live off the floor. Bleed is a given, but does anyone have any tips/tricks that have yielded good results in the past?
