Home Studio - Microphone
Hi Guys -
I've had the chance to ask for help on studio monitors (and have settled for the MSP5), and now the next obvious question is on microphones ...
Considering I can't get anything too pricey, how do you feel these options compare (or if they're utterly useless) :
Marshall Elec. MXLV69LE
AKG C3000B
Shure KSM27/SL

$4000 home studio- what would you buy?
If you were given a $4000 budget to equip a home studio, what would you buy? The client? a one-person song-writer who plays guitar, keys and sings. Uses a drum machine.
My goal is to see what "state-of-the-srt" is for home recording now.

Looking to make a little home studio.
After using a silly little USB microphone to record a number of demos, I think I'm ready to go all out and record.

modest home studio and mics
I'm putting together a modest home "studio" for recording primarily voice and acoustic guitar. I'm thinking I'll get a Korg D1200 PDS. I'm considering two from the following: RODE NT1, Audio-Technica 3031, 3035 (are any good for either purpose? am I wasting money by not getting something better?).

Advice combining recording studio with home music system
My old Harmon Kardon 430 receiver and B.I.C. home stereo speakers from the '70s are really on their last legs. Now I'm sitting here wondering if it would be sensible to connect my home CD player, cable radio, and turntable in any known way to the rest of my studio gear - mixer, amp, live sound monitors. I know that my near-field monitors would not be my main listening speakers.
Home-Made Studio Furniture
Well, I have embarked on a journey from which there is no return... I am building my own studio desk! Arrrrrggggg... :)
This has turned into a major pain in the ass, but when I finally get it finished, it should be worth it!

Questions on home studio preamps...
Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and also fairly new to home studio recording. I'm in the process of building my studio and would like some advice on decent preamps for mic/guitar in the $300 range. What is everyone using? What's good, what's bad? Do I need an Avalon or Grace to get a good sound? Thanks for your help.
Have a good one!
