Audio Interface for Linux?
Hi,
I hope this is the right part of the forum to post this in :)
I am sick to the back teeth of Windows and want to jump over to Linux (probably Ubuntu). But, I have an Edirol FA-101 audio interface and from what I can see this is not supported at all by Linux, is that right?

Best Interface for 1500ish?
I'm just so indecisive, I guess. Now I'm looking into my best interface options for around 1500 total.
I need it to be able to track drums. I would consider a Rosetta 200 with the 1394 card if I knew it was just going to be me recording myself in stereo, but I need to be able to track drums, too.

Laptop Interface Choices
okay bought a new laptop to do some recording with - the internal audio in laptops is horribly substandard, so . . . .
want to go with a Firewire or USB interface. must be portable.
within my budget the choices are:
M-Audio Fast Track Pro
Tapco Link.Firewire
Alesis ilo 14
PreSonus Firebox
E-MU 0404
Lexicon Lambda
others?

A question about some mixing/interface consoles.
Is there a console or an interface that has faders on each channel that you recorded that you can adjust the level of the highs and lows? or is there just a fader for volume? Because i know you can get an interface like the M-Audio project mix that has the auto fades. But is there something that i can hook up to my pc that alows me to do that too, also not owning any pro=tools gear.
sound interface advice
I'm looking for a sound interface for recording guitars or bass mainly . no Micing stuff. just to create a refference material for our songs by recording and mixing at home and then doing it at a professional studio.
i dont need many inputs. just need a decent quality sound interface so i can hook up my moitors with it and electric or semi acoustic guitars.

thinkpad z61m and firewire interface?
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone here has tried this laptop for audio, I'm thinking of getting it + a PreSonus firebox.
I have heard that IBMs are generally good but there may be IRQ conflicts with the firewire bus on this particular model. Hence the only way to know is see if someone else has tried...
many thanks in advance,
ciw.

recording interface for soundbooth (what do I need?)
greetings all,
I'm in the market for a computer-based hardware interface to record vocalists with a variety of microphones including condensator mics.
I want the vocalists to lay down lyrics to pre-produced tracks, recording using a pc-based sequencer (e.g. cooledit).
I will build a soundproof booth for the vocalists and arrange the recording i a control-room.
