I have a DAW system with a MIDI keyboard for musical input. It also has a hardware synth ("ROMpler") module in the chain. The keyboard is a Roland A90EX, and the synth is a Roland JV-2080.

I am trying to record my Korg Ms2000b into Ableton live 8.

What kind of gear do I need to make this happen? I have a m-audio 1X1 midi interface running two midi cables into the Korg, but I can't get any sound from my speakers nevermind the ability to record it. I have the track armed and preferences adjusted to recognized the interface.

this may sound lame, but would a wireless keyboard and mouse somehow affect the signal in recording? I mean, would I get any sort of interference or noise when recording from any of the 2? I was planning to get a pair... they look quite comfortable!

I wasn't sure what the right forum was for this question as it's not necessarily related to recording, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with moving gear around in the cold.

In the pro studios do they record keyboard through fancy high end instrument preamps (like Avalon) and EQ (like Manley) or not?
Or is it more about mixing and mastering that gives techno music that in-your-face sound?

I would like to connect a Yamaha P155 Keyboard to an Apple Macintosh G5 using the keyboards' AUX OUT L+R outputs and the Mac's Mic IN inputs. I have read on these forums that one needs to know if the AUX OUT outputs are balanced or unbalanced. This is not mentioned in the keyboard's documentation.

I am trying to transfer songs recorded on the Yamaha P155 using a USB Storage device to a Macintosh computer. Unfortunately Yamaha mention the keyboard's documentation that to accomplish transferring songs between a computer and a P155 keyboard using a USB storage device one must install their "Musicsoft Donwload Software" which is only available for Windows PC.
