Ok...I'm an idiot when it comes to midi. I'm borrowing my buddies 49key Radium and hooked it up to the midi input on my FW1884. I go into Cubase SX, add a midi track, and when I play I hear myself playing piano...cool, but every time I hit a key there is a short delay between when I hit the key and when audio comes out.

The problem i'm having is with the Latency in the Cubase program. I lowered the buffer rate from 5 to 3 which is the lowest i could get. Should i change the buffer size as well? I have that set at 5512.

hey, does anyone know how many ms altiverb latency is on the "high latency/low proscesser load" setting? or how to find out? could i do a bounce down with reverb, then load it in to the track and line them up by sight at the waveform level?

I am trying to figure out how to resolve the severe latency while running Guitar Rig as a stand alone app. - I have an M Audio 1010 sound card and changing the latency settings on its control panel does not change the delay in Guitar Rig when I am monitoring my guitar playing.

I HAVE BEEN RECORDING ON A BRAND NEW COMPUTER FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS. IT IS A DELL 4800 WITH A P-4 3.O GIG SYSTEMWITH 1 GIG OF RAM. IT HAS WORKED FLAWLESSLY FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME. ALL OF SUDDEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON, I STARTED HAVING LATENCY PROBLEMS WHEN I RECORD. THE RECORDING SYSTEM IS A PROTOOLS LE 6.4..

:( I'm troubled with latancy while recording. I can use direct monitoring but then i can't here the effects while recording. I managed to bring down the latency a lot already, but for optimizing i need some sort of latency test. How do I test latency? is there any software available. Help is very much appreciated.

Not fully understanding how latency issues are resolved I hesitate somewhat to ask this question, but my hope is that someone can help clarify what I'm not understanding.

I've recently added the ADAT "Option 1" card to my OctoPre and changed the Hardware Setup dialog in PT to reflect ADAT as the master clock, instead of Internal.

Latency is getting to the point where it's audible.. like a chorus or flange
Tested with microphone and line ins.
