I've been using MOTU for some time now and still
have problems with latency. I'm using a G3
with plenty of ram. i just don't get it. Should I
change my buffer size? I've tried it all with no
success.

Hi i use nuendo and run it with FIREFACE, i tried the total mix
but i dont know how to route the totalmix(EMULATED MIXER)
I want to record voice with no latency, just confused.

My soundcard is Maudio Delta 44, I also have a Creative Audigy 2 ZS card in there for games and such. (yeah yeah, i know about the 48khz sample rate thing)

I'm striving for the best sound quality possible with what i have.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble recording with MIDI in Pro Tools(not only midi but mostly) When recording audio from a MIDI recording there is a latency of about, well it depends... I move the buffer size around from 1024/512 to 128, sometimes to 64. but as the session gets bigger, it gets to be a problem.
Is there any way of changing this without the hassle?

I'm building my first DAW and ordering from Newegg. Just not certain whether it's beneficial to get the lowest latency or the average one. Both are compatible with the board from ASUS...because I've already checked. I will be loading GPO, SampleTank 2XL and maybe a few more samplers. I believe that these samplers are loaded into RAM, rather than DFD.

My VST instruments are about 20ms ahead on playback.
I'm pretty sure that the MIDI data is being recorded ahead of target.

I tried:

"adjust for record latency" is checked. Altering the "Record Placement Offset" value seems to have no effect at all.

i have pro tools 002 rack and would like to be able to use a outboard compressor and reverb unit i have in my mixes. when i send the track(s) out and back in thru these units, i get a delay.

I am trying to insert a compressor in my Cubase SX 2 program. This is for an acoustic guitar track coming in

however with the effect on i get a delay sound? or maybe this is latency

I have an m-audio mobilepre (USB) that feeds my cakewalk homestudio. I find that latency tends to be a real pain. after every take, I have to go and re-align by hand so the timing matches up. would this be reduced significantly with a PCI soundcard? I don't want to spend the money if not.
