So for the past 6 years I've been working with some Alesis monitors. They're beasts! But they totally color my sound. So I'm looking for something that represents my the acutal sound well, without breaking the bank.

What do you think about the Mackie HR824 power monitors?

Alright Kurt, I've pondered the internet and read tons of opinions. However, after getting such a kick out of the thread regarding pres, I feel strangely compelled to see you chime in on the subjects of Mackie HR monitors.

I have a chance to buy a Tascam M3500 mixer? Any one give me the Advice to compare with the Mackie 1604VLZ pro. Is M3500 better than 1604VLZ Pro for recordin? Cuz a lots my country people told me the 1604VLZ Pro only for the Monitorin, is that bad?

I'm new to this today and I'm also a newbee in digital recording. Please forgive my ignorance but I guess I have to start somewhere! Can I send from either the direct outs, sub sends or aux sends of my Mackie to the q10 1/4" inputs? Will I run into a problem with using the mic preamps on the mixer and putting the signal into the preamps of the Aardvark Q10? Thanks very much

from experience help me out people. lol. I am into rock music and want to get high quality recording. Digi 002 with Pro Tools or Mackie universal/onyx w/ sonar. I will be using highly equipped new PC for strictly recording. and what kind of preamps (with a nice price) can you ad to the digi 002 since it only has 4 and I may need from 6-8 when recording drums. anyone using PT 6.4 with Mackie control universal, using HUI emulation mode?

I try to edit plugins, works fine, on the first page, but I cannot get to the other pages.

the Mackie manual says: rotate the scroll encoder pot...
any idea, where it is?

any suggestions to step from page one in plugin mode to page two and further?

I've been working on a d8b for some years now and I've read that some say it's kinda bright sounding, which also is my own conclusion. It's always a struggle with the knobs to make recordings sound more warm and full. I'd like to hear som opinions on what makes the d8b so bright. Is it only the pres or is it the entire design of the mixer that's to blame?

I just want to know which would sound better... I want that warm sound for a pre production studio.

I've just bought myself a lovely Tascam 238S 8 track recorder. Being a standalone unit, I've got to invest in a mixer for the first time.

I've narrowed it down to either a Mackie CFX12 or a Mackie 1402VLZ. Can anyone tell me which of these would be better suited to my needs / set-up.
