Hey everybody, I've got a question that has been asked a few times before, but I've got a few different parameters going on here and I thought I'd post a new topic and ask about 'em.

Can any Mastering Professionals Teach me Mastering over Aol Messenger or Yahoo Messenger? I will pay you money. I watched almost every video on the internet about mastering. And read a book but this guy name Bob Katz but I understand the concepts but when I really apply the stuff it doesn't work that well.

ive been mastering for about a year for my own songs, pretty good mastering i'd say, i did a song for a artist and he says it sounds empty not full as in "its in the center of the stereo" how do i get a full sound in all speakers? i cant pan a already processed track, maybe its a trick i dont know, help!

The mastering limiter I am trying has a look ahead function. What is this function for?

I'm currently at the final stages of mixing my bands EP which I've recorded entirely at home with my own gear. I would really like to get the tracks sounding good enough to be played on local radio, but i'm not sure whether it is worth the effort to get them mastered. Is it common to get a decent sounding home recording mastered, or would i be just wasting my money?

I am reconsidering mastering my own mixes, at least for the time being. However I will need a mastering plug in. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the Kjaerhus MPL-1 Pro SE.

I read somewhere that sometimes a digital mix will be put onto analog tape and then converted back to digital in an effort to induce the warmth of analog tape.

Is this a common procedure, and how effective is it at doing just that, namely adding some warmth or body, or replicating an analog sound?

I just bought a DVD teaching SONAR by ASK Video and it was just terrific. It was a hands-on encyclopedia of almost every window and application shown on screen for that software program, which made it clearer than any book could ever be.

Can you help me place my mastering equipment in my studio?
