Best Cd-R's for Mastering/Mixing
Greetings all,
I have a new Alesis Masterlink on the way. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what the best CD-R's I should use for mastering or mixdown.
Thanks,

How mastering could improve my songs ?
Hello,
We're doing a 4 songs demo-CD (french songs, jazz, bossa...) and we did a little bit of mastering ourselves, though we don't know much about it. We consider asking a professional engineer to do it but I'm not sure to what extent it will bring an added value compared to what we have today.

Mastering Beginner
Hi guys. This is my first post here. I want to give you a quick background of why i'm here. I've been working on my home recordings for about 6 months now. I record my own band and we are in the process of complting our lineup. Once that is finished we would like to record our own album independently and pursue tourning.

mastering a loop
I had started threads in forums for my local city offering my services for recording demos basically. One dj guy responded asking about mastering, i said id give it a go just to see if i could help him, but he just sent me a loop of about 5 seconds long with 2 notes.
I'm just asking is it common to master that or is he just misled?

Mastering For Musicians
A reference made in the following article is gestalt, this means the overall perception of the mind from all the instruments and sounds. We all have preferences to sound based on what genres we follow, for myself it is the reggae sound.
All genres can and do benefit from reggae. The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin...

Mastering audio for broadcast TV/DVD
ok so we have made a documentary, and mixed the audio track, which includes speech, and a lot of (already mastered) music. now our problem is, this sounds fine, but we have a volume issue, there are no visible peaks, but apparant audio clips when playing on a tv, and also our main volume(its peaking at -0.2 and its rms is - 8) does not compare to a standard dvd/tv show.

Analog tape mastering...
Hello!
I was considering making some mastering tests using a nagra T-audio tape recorder...
But here's the thing, i just can't have it to record while at 30ips (maybe some option not available or something), it reads but it won't record...
has anyone already heard about that?
