unique drum Micing situation, advice needed.
here is my situation:
my drummer has a sh*tload of drum mics and a sh*tload of drums, a huge set, and likes to use them all when redcording. He also has a Peavey PV20 mixer with 16 mic inputs. This is what we use for live sound but we are about to start recording using it.
Stands, clips, clamps for Micing drums.
I'm getting tired of several of my cheap/makeshift stands - particularly those I'm using for Micing drums. I have good stands for overheads and vocal mics, but most of the stands for getting into hard to reach places and old cheap stands that I've hacksawed and jerry-rigged. Time to buy something good and sturdy.

Micing Drums with 2 SM58s
Hey everyone, I recently spent all my money on a MacBook and a Firepod, and I need to wait a bit to get some mics. The only things I have available to me at the moment are 2 SM58s and 2 passive whirlwind DI. Soon I hope to upgrade to RODE NT5s.

Micing a snare drum for use with jazz brushes
Well, I wish to rec the snare while playing it with brushes: since I am total new to the "Micing world", I will gladly accept any advice about the ways to get a good result
Actually, I tried it parallel to the ground, 3cm away from the snare: the result seem's decent to me, but I suppose the existence of some "old classic" way to this :)
thanks :)
