Comparing Tech. Specs. – Condenser mics vs. Interface Pre-amp
This is more a mic question than a preamp question so I thought it was more suitable in this forum.

Will digital mics ever be the standard
On another thread I just gave a rant on how excellent quality preamps were a really great audio investment. Stable, long lasting technology, what could go wrong? Well, thinking about it, if digital output microphones become standard, we can all put our preamps next to our turntables. Now I don't see it happening soon. Right now the trend is to put more analog back in the signal chain.

Recording guitar, vocals, cello, violin LIVE with 2 mics?
I'm recording a songwriter with 1 large condenser; vocals and acoustic guitar. Also, I'm Micing a cello, and a violin with a RODE ntg-2 shotgun. I'm running both into a Zoom H4N recorder.
Here's a mock-up of how I intend to set up. Nix the back-up singers. Any ideas or tips?
Much appreciated!
Here's a recording - No preamps, no Shure mics recorded in one night
Just uploaded it. I think this one will do well for the youtube channel.

Mics for Live work
We just had a couple of mics in stock when we started. so I've been picking up deals on various mics to try out different stuff. I thought I'd post results so far. I am Micing clean and scream vocals, backing vocals, at high volumes. I also am singing Coldplay, 3DG, Oasis, etc. Rush (ha ha) and originals, clean vocals.

Choir - Where are the mics?
So beautiful.
University of Utah Singers-Sure on this Shining Night
The separation is very nice, where do you think the mics are here? I see small flank stands on the left /right of the stage. Sounds so smooth.
hmm I'm thinking about my up coming Choir project which has me lurking.
