What should i do with these RCA ribbon mics
I recently acquired
3 RCA 77-D Ribbon mics
1 RCA WNAR mic
I am going to be getting them restored, but are they really worth keeping or should i sell them on ebay?
I kinda am afraid to keep them. What would you use them for?

What mics should I use for recording an outdoor wedding?
I'm getting married in a couple of weeks! We're having amateurs do AV recording. I've got a PreSonus Firebox (shortly after the whole scandal where people found out it wasn't actually 96ksps, as advertised, but 48ksps and digitally up-sampled internally). It has six inputs, of which two are microphone inputs, and two are line inputs, and two are probably useless (S/PDIF and MIDI).

Condenser mics: is absolutely necesary to use an outside preamp?
Hello experts,
I recently bought an Mbox 2 and want to buy a condenser mic to record vocals. Im wondering if I absolutely need to get a preamp to work with condenser mics.
Cant I just choose to work with the built in preamps from the mbox?
Thank you!
Hum and pickup noise in combination M-audio preamp with Shure KSM109 mics
Hi!
I have a problem that I could not resolve during a long period of time.
I have 2 Shure KSM 109 mics that are connected to M-audio DMP3 preamp.
Preamp is connected to PC sound card.
What pair of mics for live recording?
Hello all. I am new to live recording and I wanted to look into a pair of mics I could use to record at small clubs and venues. My thoughts are this – to be able to run a signal from the board when the engineer is cool with that and have the pair for additional recording. Or they would be my main recording devices when I couldn't get a signal from the board.

If you had to record a drum set using only two mics...
Let's say it is a basic nothing special drum set (drummers don't kill me) and you had to mic it up but you only had two SM57s and two channels to work with, how would you do it? Would you put one mic on the kick and one mic on the snare and let the rest of the set bleed over.
Sennheiser MKH 80 P48 are awesome mics!
I just got finished with a session where I used two of these mics. They're borrowed, but I sure would like to own these! They are side-address small diaphragm condensers.
I put them in head-to-head position on my Blumlein bar, rotated them about 90 degrees from each other and recorded acoustic guitar in stereo.
