Using 2 USB mics to record at once
Hello everyone! First off, I hope this is the right section to post this, if not I apologize.
Now then...
I have searched everywhere and I cannot find out how to set up two USB mics to record at once but with two different levels.
Software I have to record are...
- Sony Vegas and Sony Sound Forge
- Reaper
- Audacity

Your mics and why you like them the most?
I'm interested in seeing what other peoples favorite mics are and why. I am slowly building my tool kit of recording gear and the more I can have that can be best for certain situations, I'm sure will help me out a bunch. Let me know what you guys think, I'm just curious :)

Say, how do they make those fancy German mics anyway
It's a bit interesting at least.
Audio-Technica Drum Mics
Just bought one of those snare/tom mics with a short stand off a guy for 20 bucks. Are they any good? They seemed to sell for like 350 new for the kit of 4 mics and they are built and look similar to the ATM line {like tanks}. I might buy the rest of the kit off of him if I like. Thought I couldnt really beat the price i am on a very very tight budget.

Condenser Mics: Good vs. Bad
Alright, there is some technical stuff I would very much like to understand, but the information I've found so far doesn't seem to do any one explanation justice. I'm going to use Audio-Technica mics as sort of the reference for examples here, as the AT's and Blue Mics comprise all of what I own in the condenser world.

Gotta Rent some mics, Which Ones?
Hi gang, my band is going to do a "live off the floor" demo session in my basement (24x15ft and low ceiling). Drums and amps will be in the same room. I may do just scratch tracks live for the vox and retrack them later when things are quiet.
