I'm new with recording and mixing and stuff. I have a short (40 second) song that I did my best on, but I'm wondering if you guys have any helpful mixing criticism for me.

Only just joined this forum and already found some of the threads very handy, but need a bit of extra advice on some mixing in Logic 8.
I run full Logic 8 on a Powermac G5, using Toontrack Superior 2.0 (The Metal Foundry SDX) for drums.
Have recorded all guitars with a close-mic'd SM57 (top right cone of Orange cab) and placed an SE2200A about 6ft away.

I'm trying to do my first mixing project with a bunch of tracks I've just recorded. I recorded some bass tracks four different ways to let me choose/create the best sound later and now would love some advice.

1- Yamaha mw10c
2- Behringer 1204 fx mixer

I do a little recording at home with just vocals and acoustic guitar though a single condenser mic. I'm looking at the Behringer XENYX 1002FX

It seems like a nice little mixer for the price and has built in effects. But later I might want to add an external effects processor like a quadraverb.

Hi, my band and I are in the process of recording a CD. We have a few songs completely recorded and are starting to mix them down. what's the best way to listen to the tracks as I'm mixing them? We have some nice Sennheiser headphones, a pretty decent stereo system connected to the computer and we also have some crappy $15 standard mp3 player headphones.

Hello, I need some advice on mixing cello and piano duo. I am using sampled technology, but the problem is that I can't find any settings for cello or piano positioning, mixing etc. How loud to be the piano, which position to be simulated for it, the same goes for the cello.

Hello everyone. I've got a gig coming up where I'll be monitor mixing for a band I've never heard before. Well actually me and my crew are running sound for a festival but the headliner insists on bringing their own console(instead of using our Midas Verona 56ch) along with their own FOH guy. So we're suppose to run their monitor mix.

Can anyone give me advice on where or how to learn the basics of Mixing, panning, etc. Preferably, a free website or something.
