So, I purchased a Yamaha MG32 mixer a couple weeks ago, and it works fine and sounds pretty damn good with the multitrack recorder and mics and pres I have... However, I am putting on a mixed show in a couple weeks (half acoustic performance, half dance-music).

Lo-Cut Button on mixer

When Micing off drums when would you use the lo-cut button. This is what I think but I am a noob so please correct me of I am wrong.

I think, when Micing off the entire kit you you have the lo-cut turn on for the overheads and Hi Hat.

When only Micing off the snare and kick and overheads you would have the lo-cut turned off for the overheads

I am dealing with an older analog Tascam M208 8 channel mixer. It has 8 channel faders, four program faders 1,2,3 and 4 and two stereo master faders. It then has program assign buttons for each of the 8 channels so that either program 1-2 or 3-4 can be selected for each channel. My problem:

Ok i need some help i just got some headphones for my mixer so people engineerin my sh*t when I'm recording can hear whats goin on and i dont have to pass the head phones back and forth..but when i put them in the plugin for head phones they dont work..can any one tell me how to get them to work ? i have a lto amx 100 10-channel mixer.. heres a pic of it..

Im looking to buy a mixer for recording, right now I'm usuing a powered peavery pa head into my new soundcard which is a soundblaster xtreme fidelity. The quality I get is pretty good but theres lots of hiss. Im assuming it's because of the pa, I'm looking to spend around 500-800, what i want is a mixer with eight tracks ( by that i mean eight XLR inputs with eq settings).

i just wanna know like "hey, you plug this here and that there and then you send one out into this thing and then you pan it left blablabla" sort of thing.
