Mono Monitor

Hello...
I do, mostly, mono audio editing and I read an interesting proposal on another website...
How about just using 1 monitor?
I thought about it for a second and couldn't think of a logical reason why I would need 2 monitors. Plus, I could get a higher quality monitor for the same price as I would have purchased 2 monitors (I'm looking at $300-$500).

VIs that output in stereo, when mono is preferred?

Hi all,

The kind of VIs that I'm referring to are the array of plugins like Stylus RMX or NI's Guitar Rig that all output their effected signals as stereo. But what if, for example, one was recording a bass part with Guitar Rig where perhaps a final mono signal of such a take would be preferred to be finally printed to tape?

X/Y or Stero/Mono, by recording drums

Hi. I would like to ask, what position of overheads is better by drum recording. I use X/Y type of overhead position, but in some recording seminars, thah lern to record drum kit as well, explain Stereo/Mono mode and 3 in 1 rule. I now that there are more another types, byt i want to lern about this (X/Y or Stero/Mono). Please explain which type is better.
Thanks

Recording drums: mono vs. . stereo

hi i was wondering if u can help a newbie like me in recording drums. my question is I'm looking to make a dance song i know kick drum, bass, snare should be mono when recorded but I'm clueless about toms, hi-hats, and crash cymbals should they be recorded mono or stereo. if I'm right at the final mix down the whole drum kit should be stereo correct me if I'm wrong.
