Trying to get a Micro Express that I recently bought 2nd hand set up on my computer. It's the serial port connection version and I think that I need to change something in the device manager allowing the new device to utilize the port. I may also be terribly wrong! I've been getting messages relating to the device as follows...

Are there rampant known horror stories about trying to use the MOTU 2408 MkII in a Windows PC?

I just bought a used micro express. It came with a floppy for the drivers but I don't believe the interface software was included. Can anyone guide me to a place where I might get it off the net? I tried the MOTU web page but only found the drivers which I already have...

I'm just configuring a portable setup like this: iBook + 828 + 80 GB FireWire HD. Glyph M Project looks nice because it has the MOTU look and it's also rackmount, but too expensive. At Glyph website they say it's the only drive recommended by MOTU.

Wavelab does not see the 828 in the audio card preferences.
I have no problem with VST 5.1 (ASIO) and the 828.

I'm running windows XP Pro, intel 1.6 P4.

Any suggestions?
I haven't heard back from MOTU tech yet so I thought I'd try here.

I upgraded my pc system last weak. Unfortunately I'm not able to get running the MOTU Card in my system. The 324card, the connection cable and the 2408MKII all are okay, since they run flawless in my old PIII 650 system with Intel BX.
My configuration is:
Hardware
AMD Athlon XP1700+
MSI KT266 Pro2 RU (With onboard raid and USB2), VIA KT266A

I just purchased the above system and am confused about drivers...

ASIO?
WDM?
MME wave?

I've been digging through the Logic manual but still not sure. From what I gather I would use the ASIO drivers...

am I correct?

I have a DAW studio and I'm new to sync issues. I wanted to know what options are available for good sync, mtc, & mmc. My question is, are the MTP AV & Midi Express XT the same or equal. I hear the MTP AV does more. Can some one explain these two pieces to me. Thanks RO members.

I have a friend who just bought a 2408 after being told by the salesman that it is all he needed to dump three sync-ed Da-88 into the PC.
