I recently purchased 2 condenser mics and an sm57 to record my bands drumset with. The 3 mics work great, but I'm still looking for a mic to record the kick drum with. I put the two overheads (condensers) up and the 57 on the snare, and the kickdrum barely picks up. Along with that, i want to have multiple tracks recording each individual mic on cubase.

So my band decided that we want to start doing some recording. We've got an Alesis multimix usb 12 mixer, mics, cables and all that stuff. Also, I've got a version of Cubase installed.

I already have an original 01V with 8 channel ADAT out.

We need to record some live tracks from our shows... I was shown the MOTU 8Pre at a local music store and I'm considering buying it.

From what I understand, I can use the 8 channels of ADAT and add a few more channels via the analog pre's, and grab the tracks via firewire in Audacity or some other program.

I've got another Sunday session with Carlos Crull's jazz group (a quartet this week) recorded and archived. This week I used my Jecklin disk with Avenson ST02 pair. I'll post a song when I can to it.

I need a proffesional alternative on my on-the-road-recording-rigg.
I need a PRO result from a BUDGET buy.

I've been looking at a lot of open source stuff, Cubase, and so forth but cant make up my mind.

There will be NO edition, just pure recording.

Hi, I have Cubase SX3 with a Creative X-Fi Elite Pro. my problem is:

first: I record one track of guitar in mono.

then I create a second track for another guitar but when I record this second track, the first track is written in the second track also...

how can I resolve that?
