I just upgraded my audi interface and added a mixer to my home studio. I've been using acid 4.0 for my multitracking but am growing tired of it locking up and its little quirks. Right now I have a trial of Adobe audition 1.5 but its a little out of my price range. Im considering Cubase se cause of the price tag and the fact that I can upgrade it.

I am new to this game and any info regarding this would be appreciated. I have a Yamaha emx 5000 12 mixer with in and out recording and playback on a Tascam CD-rw750. what are the requirements for my laptop ( maybe bypass the crummy sound card in it) to receive multi tracks from my mixer (via a edirol ua-25 or equiv interface) back out to the recorder?

hey, I've been trying to come up with a way to record more than 8 tracks using Pro Tools and I think I've found out how but I'm not sure if this is right and I have a few questions about it.

I'm trying to record multitrack acoustic music where I am the only musician. So for example, I lay down track one with rythm guitar, then play it back in headphones while I record some type of accompaniment in track two. I'm recording each track with one mic run through a Sound Blaster Audigy.

My understanding is that coming out of the preamp is a 'line level'. And if your multiitrack doesn't have a line level input and you go thru another input you are just going thru the multitrack's preamp, which is what you are trying to avoid even though you may have 'warmed' up your sound with the external preamp.

How do you use an external preamp, I mean like what input do you plug it into on a multitrack?

I hace certain FM receivers, recently builded, and a M-Audio Card that allows 8 analog inputs.

With that stuff, I wan't to record FM Radio, different channels, to perform an archive system of audio programs.

¿What multitrack audio recording program should I use? I would like to schedule the recordings, and I haven't found nothing yet.

Anyone out there using the MOTU Traveler yet?
I'm going to be recording multitrack in places without power and it looks like the ideal piece of hardware.
Any problems using it with Logic/PT/Nuendo?

New to the forum but not recording. Unfortunately, I come from the pre-existing multitrack recording studios from wayyy back. Every recording device I have ever owned was a multitrack recorder from the cassette porta-04 studio to my current Roland digital 8-track.
