Routing:
Record from analog Mixer.using ballance jack from i/o (insert) to Firepod thru firewire to PowerBook.

Hi, I own a Fostex MR-8, but it seems that I am just growing out of it. I am looking to continue recording my band, so what would be a good choice for a new multitrack? I plan on spending about 400-500 dollars. Four track simultaneous is something I need. Does Boss make good recorders, they seem good, but since I own a PODxt the effects aren't needed.

I am looking for a piece of equipment that will record up to at least
20 tracks on my computer. I see may mixers on the website that have at
least 20 XLR mic inputs. I want a board that will do this and
simultaneously connect to my computer and record the tracks using software.
What do I need in order to get this many inputs(XLR) and this much

I've been multitracking on my notebook for over a year now.
And seeing all the questions on this board brings back memories to when I was shopping for the right budget gear.
I got a lot of information from reading thousands of posts on this great forum and in return I would like to a add a little information myself.

Is there a conflict that would prevent Cool Edit Pro 2.1 from running on a computer that has Vegas Audio installed on it? I am having that problem. I am running Windows XP service pack 2 and have a CardDeluxe Analog + Digital Audio sound card.

I want to record drums for my band and i can do so by plugging in the drum mics to the mixer and then a single cable into my computer. I use the program Adobe Audition 1.5. Hi. I have a BOSS BR-864 multi-track recorder. It's an 8-track with one XLR input and one 1/4" jack input. I also have an 8-channel mixer with a Main Out, a Control Room Out, FX Send, Tape Out/Tape In, and Phones jacks. I also have a few microphones, monitors, a preamp, a DI box, and a compressor.

Is there any way in Sound forge to break the seperate freqencies, to indivual insturment sounds. With any of the tools or effects? Ex. noise gate
