Oktava mk012's and the capsules.

GC has a deal on (2) oktava mk012's for 99.00.

are these any different than the mc012's? (I always thought they were mC012's as opposed to mK012's)

here's the stupid noob question.

I think I am going to get a pair but am debating on whether I need the capsoles as they are more expensive than the mic's themselves.

Oktava ML52 ribbon mic

Forums

GC is blowin Oktava ML52's out at 200 bucks. Most people seem to be gawking at the 100 for MC012's, but I wanna know bout this one. Anyone used it? Is it worth having around cause it's a ribbon or is the money better in the bank saving for a royer? Does it have that ribbon "warmth" that is so often spoken of? I have a some condensers (rode, oktava, AT) and the regular dynamics.

schoeps mk41 vs Oktava mc01

IM a location sound engineer among other things and am looking at purchasing a hyper cardiod for interior dialogue recording .The schoeps with the mk41 hypercardiod head seems to be the established mic to use but ive heard good things about the octavia mc01 and the Sennheiser mkh50 .I was wondering if anyone had experiance with these mics.
