Enabling Optical Outs/Ins on Yamaha 01v96...

Hello!

We've got a Yamaha 01v96 w/ a 16 channel IO expansion card and 8 channels built in.

We just got an Alesis HD24 and want to connect using the optical ins/outs. According to Alesis we do out from the HD24 to the in of the 01V and out from 01V to in on HD24. So, for 1-8 we have an in from HD24 and out to 01V. Same for 9-16 and 17-24.

2496 with optical iO

Hey..
I'm using Pro Tools LE. with DIGI 002 rack, I'd like to know if it is possible to recieve and send digital signals thru the optical IO. at 2496 resolution.

I'm using Mackie onyx 1640 without the Firewire IO option. i'd also be running Nuendo on the same hardware. so i'd need a solution that works with Pro Tools LE as well as Nuendo

Thanx

A S/PDIF Coaxial to Optical Converter

Well, this is my first post on this forum, and it's about converting a coaxial S/PDIF signal to an optical signal. I am getting a PowerMac G5 (which has an S/PDIF optical in) and i have an Apogee Mini-me (which has coaxial S/PDIF, XLR AES/EBU, and usb outputs). I do not want to be limited to 24-bit 48khz from the Mini-me's usb output.

Mac G5 Optical Audio in question

I have upgraded from a G4 to a G5. Needless to say the thing is phenomenally fast. Its quite a machine. In any case I've been using a MOTU 2408 with the G4 but it doesn't work with the G5 not without spending more money. In the mean time I've been using MY old Panasonic 3800 DAT as a temp converter. I go Analog in from Neve Mic Pre through DAT to Optical out into G5 optical In.

Switch for toslink optical cable inputs (8 channel signal)

I need to be able to switch the toslink cable inputs for two D-A units. The messy way is to manually move the cables around which is a headache. Can anyone suggest a switch that can handle the bandwidth of an ADAT signal without disrupting the optical signal.

I have tried one from maplins but I suspect it was only designed for S/PDIF because I get errors in the signal.

ADAT Optical Output in 96K?

As far as I know the information being passed through an ADAT Optical Digital out can only go as high as 48K. But I was researching the Focusrite Octopre and it states that there is a new ADAT spec that now makes it possible to use ADAT to transfer 96k digital information. Has any one heard about this? Or does any one know where I can get info on this new spec?
